CHAGALL v1.0 by Trade It - This looks like an excellent drawing package. It
has lots of powerful tools and special effects and runs in any interlaced
(double line off on VGA) resolution. This version only seems to display GIFs
correctly in true colour mode. It also loads TIFF, ESM, IMG, PAC, PIC, PI3
and IFF formats. Unfortunately both the program and docs are in German. Most
functions operate with the exeption of saving.
D2M v2.50 by PARX Software - An art package which runs in any resolution. It
loads and saves almost any file format using Parx's M&E modules. Most things
work with the exception of saving. It supports Speedo GDOS and is Multi-TOS
friendly. It looks like a very capable package and is now in English.
PHOTO STUDIO by Eurosoft - A highly proficient photo retouching program. It
can load pictures in SEF, TIFF, GIF, TGA, PCX, IFF, Degas, NEO, JPEG and
Photo CD formats. It runs in any resolution and converts the selected image
to suit. It has countless image processing tools as well as RGB adjustment,
grey scale conversion and much more. Unfortunately the program is in French.
The only restriction on this version is the inability to save. All three art
packages on this disk are GEM based and fully Multi-TOS compatible.

זלללללללל¶
TRUE PAINT by HiSoft - This was the first art package capable of running in
true colour. It seems to support the largest amount of file formats of those
on this disk. However, the demo only loads JPEG and TPI formats. There are
very few tools but the package is simple to use. Speedo GDOS and Multi-TOS
are supported. Apart from not saving, this version is identical to the full
version. We've included some high quality images for you to experiment with.
BIT CAMERA DEMO - Allows you to load up IMG, X-IMG and XGA images (depending
on resolution) and rescale them fast and accurately. The results are great
and the only restriction with this demo is that Save is disabled.
DIGITAPE DEMO - A demo of a multi-track digital tape recorder aimed at the
professional musician, which achieves some outstanding results using the DSP.
You can record direct to disk using multiple tracks and remix your recording.
It even has a Karaoke mode! This is a demo of a commercial product costing
$150. You can play any length of tapes but can only record up to 20 seconds
worth with this demo. Obviously you'll need a hard drive.
CYREL PALETTE MASTER v3.5d - A demo of an impressive art program for any ST
or compatible, but this one runs in true colour too! It features a number of
extras not available in ST packages, such as generating a rainbow spectrum,
blending colours, gamma level adjustment, greyscale conversion, addressing
the colour registers direct and much more. Originally only available for the
TT and Mega STE with a graphic board! The demo allows the use of only one
clip buffer and does not let you load or save. Apart from that it is fully
functional with on-line help and a fair amount of documentation on disk.
CLOE by Business Assistance - A displayer program which raytraces script
files produced by the full version. There's two versions on disk, one for a
maths co-processor and another for the 'ordinary' machine. Seven script files
are supplied for you to try out.
COLOURSCAN II by SKWare One - A true colour program which allows you to
convert scanned mono IMG files into colours or true grey scales. The demo
only does grey scales at a fixed setting but the results are nevertheless
astounding. Pity you can't save them! The full version supports 64 and 256
scales as well as colour and saves in 12 different formats.
FIR DEMO V1.1 - This program displays different wave forms in a similar
manner to an oscilloscope. You can easily change the wave forms using the
various slider controls. Calculations are performed using the DSP and there's
a separate version of the program for those of you with a maths co-processor.
It's difficult to see the purpose of the program since the original doc is in
German and the translated one leaves a lot to be desired!

זלללללללל¶
JIGSAW by The Dolphin Group - This is a computer adaptation of a traditional
jigsaw puzzle. Simply scroll through the pieces on the demo puzzle, select
them and position them on the board. You can view your progress on the full
puzzle at any time. This demo comes with just one puzzle and has numerous
options disabled. The full version lets you load up different puzzles, save
unfinished puzzles for resumption at a later date, rotate pieces and so on.
Great fun.
OUTSIDE - Have you ever wanted to use your hard drive as extra memory like
Windows does on the PC? Well here's the answer. Outside is fully user
configurable and pages memory overflow to and from your hard drive as
required. The demo insists on being run from Drive A and using Drive D as its
swap partition. It allows you a maximum of 2 Megabyes of virtual RAM. The
full version can be run from any drive, will swap memory to or from any other
drive and can give you up to 512 Megabytes of extra memory subject to disk
space. Program and main doc in German, an English help file is included.
PIXART by Omikron - A demo version of an art package which is Falcon enhanced
and runs in any resolution. It can load and save (disabled in this demo) in
IMG, IFF, TIFF, PCX, ESM, Degas and its own format, depending on resolution.
A large number of tools are available and the program is very similar in
style to Calamus with the main icons across the top, each leading to another
menu of icons. Pixart also accepts input directly from scanners and graphic
tablets. Unfortunately both program and docs are in German.
SCREEN BLASTER - A useable demo of the software which comes with the hardware
add on which increases the screen resolutions to a maximum of 1152x852
dependent on your monitor. It also allows a virtual screen of 1280x1024 on
any monitor. Although the demo is an early version and has a number of
features disabled, it is useable and gives you an insight into the
capabilities of the full version.
XENOMORPH by Lexicor - A commercial raytracing package which uses a GEM
interface and has been Falcon enhanced. A number of demo script files are
supplied for you to try out. Although the demo says Phoenix Render, you will
probably know it better as Xenomorph. It saves out its files in Degas, GIF,
SPC or TGA format, depending on your preference. As far as I can make out, it
will only view the wireframe objects and let you render them. You cannot edit
your own scenes.

זלללללללל¶
OVERLAY by Overscan - This program runs in all video modes and allows you to
combine pictures and text to form stunning presentations. The text can be
solid, filled or texture mapped. A number of example animations are included
on disk along with a player program. The demo allows the importation of text
and graphics but you obviously can't save your work. Unfortunately, although
the program is in English, the docs (over 90k's worth on disk!) are in
German.

זלללללללל¶
IMAGECOPY 3 - This is the demo of the followup to the highly renowned
Imagecopy 2. It lets you grab screens from within another program and save
them to disk. It also converts to and from IMG, Degas, GIF, TIFF, TGA, BMP,
PCX, Prism Paint/True Paint formats. A comprehensive list of printers is
supported, including colour ones. You cannot save with this version and
program information is stamped across printouts.
PAPYRUS v2.21 - Probably the most exciting new document processor since
Calligrapher! As well as all the standard features, Papyrus supports multiple
fonts (limited only by memory) when used with GDOS or SpeedoGDOS and is
Multi-TOS compatible. Its features also include multiple rulers, multiple
text styles within a document, graphic import and re-size to screen or
printer and the ability to create tables easily. You can set up your page
layout to suit, zoom in on any part of the document, apply various line and
fill styles and create vector objects from within the program. Printer
support is extensive and covers 9-pin Epson, 24-pin Epson & NEC and HP
Laserjet/Deskjet (including the colour models). This demo version is complete
except for the fact that it randomly reverses certain characters on the
printout. In fact the output is as good as anything you'll get from a DTP
package. This copy is in French but easily understood. The full version is
available in the UK from HiSoft. Needs 1 Meg.
ECOPY V1.5 - Probably the best disk formatting and copying utility yet. It
formats and copies DD, HD and Quad Density (2.88Mb) disks if your machine has
had the necessary upgrade fitted. Both standard and extended formats are
offered for all three disk types. ECopy also lets you set the step rate,
analyse disk formats, check disks for corrupt sectors, create PC compatible
formats and create and restore Fcopy Pro DIM files. It also has a built in
virus checker. Copying and formatting are disabled in this version.
Unfortunately both the program and docs are in German.
BLOWUP 030 - Yet another resolution booster. The full version of this
software allows one expanded resolution and one virtual screen for each
available resolution and runs on any TV or monitor. The demo only offers an
increased resolution when using 16 colours, 80 columns, double-line off on a
VGA or Multi-Sync monitor. It also works on SVGA but gives no improvement
over a standard VGA display. The demo does not run on an RGB monitor or TV.
PRISM PAINT II by Lexicor - A combined art/animation package which runs in
any resolution. Animations can be saved in 2, 16, 256, 32,768 or 65,536
colours. The full version loads GIF, TGA, IMG, DOO, Degas, NEO, PIC and PNT
files and saves in GIF, TGA, IMG and PNT formats. The full version also loads
and saves animations in its own AFF format as well as Phoenix run time files.
Most common graphics cards are supported as is SpeedoGDOS and Multi-TOS. It
also features a number of user programmable functions and has a built-in
virtual screen manager. The demo has all loading, saving, printing and a few
other functions disabled.

זלללללללל¶
RAYSTART by Lexicor - Everything you need to model, render and raytrace
scenes from within an easy to use GEM based shell. You can import models from
CAD 3D v2 to render and just about everything from the positioning and
intensity of the lamps to the camera angle can be controlled easily. Objects
can be rotated and scaled and different textures can be selected for
rendering. Everything is fully functional except the saving of completed
raytracings. Several of these are supplied on disk for you to view anyway. As
with all raytracing packages, you should be prepared to wait a few hours to
create an average screen. Needs 4 Meg.
ZOOM V1.0 - The most fully featured RSC editor I've seen yet. Not only does
it give you extensive control over ordinary RSC files, it also supports 16
colour DESKICON.RSC files which contain your Desktop icons on the Falcon. A
full range of graphic tools are provided to allow precise detail when
creating or editing these. You can also import Windows icons from the PC.
Everything is complete except that you cannot save your work.

זלללללללל¶
MORPHER V1.0 by Application Systems Heidelberg - An excellent GEM based
program for creating 'morphs'. Two pictures are loaded up, you then proceed
to load up the control lines and start the morphing process. The end result
is a third picture which is a cross between the first two. The demo has a
number of restrictions imposed upon it including the inability to create
animations. Morpher is dreadfully slow but the results are really impressive
and you can alter the parameters to obtain different results. Strangely
enough it's the ST version (rather than the TT version) which runs on the
Falcon. Fully Multi-TOS compatible. Requires a minimum resolution of 640x400
(80 col, interlace on/double line off) in up to 256 colours.
RAINBOW V0.5 - A True Colour paint package from Sweden which loads TGA, TPI,
NEO and PI? formats. The program is rather odd to use and has very few tools
but it is in an early stage of development and looks promising. Save is
disabled in this demo.
TWILIGHT by Delirium Arts - A demo of a modular based screen saver which runs
in any resolution from mono to True Colour and is fully Multi-TOS compatible.
The demo restricts screen saving to 90 seconds and does not allow you to save
you configuration. Apart from that, this version is fully functional. What
makes this screen saver unique is that it plays animated 'films' in mono or
colour and attaches sound samples to the animations. It also gives the user a
fair amount of control over the various parameters. 18 example animations are
supplied on disk.

´ F.4552 ´
זלללללללל¶
PAPILLON by Application Systems Heidelberg - A rather impressive art package
which supports IMG (including colour), Doodle, STAD, Degas, Macpaint, NEO,
IFF and GIF formats. Like TruePaint, the tools are attached to the side of
the picture within its window. A comprehensive range of tools are included
and its colour reduction capabilities are particularly impressive,
especially when converting to greyscales. Several pictures are supplied on
disk for you to experiment with. Functions in any resolution with up to 256
colours. Multi-TOS compatible, runs on large screens too. Unfortunately the
program is in German. Well worth a look. Fully functional except for save.
CRAZY MUSIC MACHINE by Application Systems Paris - This looks like being a
most comprehensive music package. It has its own built-in sampling software,
allows standard music notes to be entered onto a stave, includes MIDI
support and uses the DSP to create effects. CMM seems to be a cross between
a soundtracker type program and a conventional composition package. Save is
disabled in the demo and an alert box pops up every time you do something,
just to remind you that you are using the demo version. Unfortunately this
program is in French.
LES ANIMAUX by Parx Software - An educational game for young children. You
must match up the top half of an animal's body with the correct bottom half.
Failure to do so results in some rather strange hybrids! It also works as a
colouring book where you get an outline shape of the animal (or the wierd
hybrid) to colour in. There's a choice of three great stereo tunes to listen
to throughout the program. The demo only features three of the eighteen
animals and both save and print are disabled. If you can live with the
animal names being in French, it might just be worthwhile buying the full
version.

´ F.4553 ´
זלללללללל¶
LES DINOSAURS by Parx Software - Another educational game from Parx which
follows the same line as Les Animaux on F.4552. Once again you have to match
the top of the dinosaur with the correct bottom. This variant also includes
the colouring book option, three stereo tunes and uses three of the eighteen
dinosaurs.
MULTI BRIQUES by Parx - Nothing educational about this one! It's a breakout
type game but with a difference. You control four bats and must coordinate
their use in order to hit the ball! This can be rather confusing to say the
least. Multi Briques is for one to four players and obviously gets easier
the more players you have. Control can be by keyboard or joystick. A great
game which features True Colour graphics. The demo has one level, the full
version has ten.

´ F.4557 ´
זלללללללל¶
PHOENIX MANAGER from Application Systems Paris - A very advanced database
program which includes countless powerful features. It is heavily icon
based, features movable windows and is Multi-TOS compatible. Regrettably,
all the text is in German. Your database record cards allow greater
flexibility than most and graphics may even be displayed alongside them.
Lots of statistical functions are built in, along with context sensitive on-
line help. Everything seems to be fully operational with the exception of
save. Phoenix Manager runs in any resolution, in 40 column mode, it achives
this by running inside a resizeable GEM window! Needs a hard drive.
DA'S PICTURE - A usable demo of Digital Arts' top of the range image
processing software. It features floating toolboxes, 8-bit masking and a
host of features never before seen on an Atari. The special effects which
can be achieved with this package are second to none. DA's Picture requires
a resolution of 640x400 or better. All graphics are processed in true
colour, regardless of the resolution it is running in. TIF is the only
graphic format supported by the software. The demo is fully functional with
the exception that you cannot save your work and external modules cannot be
loaded. Needs 4 Meg.

חלללללללל†
´ F.4569 ´
זלללללללל¶
CONVECTOR 2 - An excellent program for auto-tracing bitmapped graphics in
order to convert them to vector graphics. A great amount of user control is
offered over the conversion process and you can even edit the converted
images. A number of IMG files are supplied so that you can see Convector's
auto tracing at its best. As well as being a stand alone program, Convector
can hook directly into Arabesque and can be used as a Megapaint module. This
demo is fully functional with the exception that you cannot save your vector
images. The only problem is that it's in German.
INTERFACE v2.2 - The 'standard' RSC editor in Germany. This program allows
you to create and edit RSC files, including the graphics within them. It
also supports the editing of desktop icons within RSC files (including
colour icons on the Falcon). Example RSC files are supplied for you to
experiment with. An incredible piece of software. Menus are in German, but
obvious. Fully function with the exception of save.

´ F.4570 ´
זלללללללל¶
DA'S VEKTOR - A very powerful vector graphics editor. It allows you to
autotrace bitmapped graphics, work on your vector graphic in layers and
create animations with vector graphics. DA's Vektor supports both mono and
colour vector graphics and runs under Multi-TOS. Fully functional except
that you cannot save your work. Needs 4 Meg.
EASE V3 - A replacement Desktop from Germany. It looks similar in some ways
to NeoDesk but offers different functionality. Ease can be fully integrated
with Kobold and Mag!X and has a host of features not normally found in these
type of programs. The demo does not allow you to run any programs but
everything else seems to be fully functional. It even includes a built-in
Help mode! Regrettably, both program and docs are in German, although the
full version is in English.
MINI F1 V1.03 - A formula one racing game from France. You can practice or
compete in the World Championships. The demo only allows you to race on the
Phoenix racetrack, but the full version has fifteen others. Remember to
select which joystick port you are using (via the menu) otherwise the
computer will control your car!

´ F.5068 ´
זלללללללל¶
EDITH PROFESSIONAL - A very highly specified text editor from Germany. It is
Multi-TOS and SpeedoGDOS compatible and resolution independent. Features
include context sensitive on-line help, multiple rulers, auto word wrap,
dialogs inside moveable windows, iconification of windows, multiple
clipboards and support for coloured text. Executable files may be loaded and
exited in the same way as with the likes of Knife ST. The ability to expand
abbreviations into complete words or phrases is another major feature as is
the ability to increase the on-screen text size to assist those who are
partially sighted. It may be fair to say that Edith really is the best there
is when it comes to text editors. This version is fully translated and
restricted only in the fact that it does not save. The full version can be
obtained in the UK. See details on disk.
KOBOLD V3.0 - The high speed file copier. If you have a hard drive, Kobold
can copy megabytes in seconds. Even on floppy drives it's much faster than
TOS. The demo allows you to copy up to to 4 Meg of files at a time. However,
it cannot be used as an ACC, cannot be patched into TOS and lots of other
functions are disabled. Unfortunately both program and docs are in German.
The full (English) version is available from System Solutions.
HYPERTEXT V1.0 by Σ-Soft - Perhaps one of the best Hypertext clones
available. It loads up a document and clicking onto words highlighted in
bold takes you to linked parts of the text. The demo is in English but the
example doc is German. Registered users will be able to use their own
documents with the shell an create context sensitive on-line help for their
own programs.
DIGIT TRAKER by Galactic - A 4-track soundtracker clone which transposes
notes over 5 octaves in real time. More than 30 instruments are supported in
a song and notes may be input from Midi. With the use of an additional
module, you can even get stereo sound on an STFM! The demo is fully
functional except that you cannot save songs or patterns. The full version
is available from CGS Computerbild.
NEODESK 4 by Gribnif - A fully usable demo of the latest incarnation of this
leading replacement Desktop. This version represents a major upgrade over
NEODesk 3 and includes many advanced features, many of which are discussed
in the accompanying text file. NEODesk 4 is fully compatible with leading
multi-tasking operating systems and offers all the advantages of TOS 2.06
and NEODesk 3 as well as lots of similar features to those found in Windows
on the PC and System 7 on the Apple Macintosh. The demo does not allow you
to copy or move files, save configuration or format a disk. It goes through
the motions in most cases to demonstrate its speed, but does not actually
write anything. In addition your computer resets if you try to quit the
demo.
HIGH VIDELITY V1.5 by TRAST - The demo version of another resolution booster
program which is similar in concept to ScreenBlaster and BlowUp030. The demo
version supports resolutions of up to 832x608 depending on the capabilities
of your monitor. Be warned - trying to drive your monitor at a resolution
that it was not designed to operate at, can seriously damage your monitor.
VGA only.

STUDIO PHOTO PROFESSIONAL by Lexicor - The followup to the highly successful
Studio Photo. This latest version imports over 20 file types, converts
between RGB, CYM, CYMK and greyscale palettes. There's a host of drawing and
retouching tools as well as very powerful filtering options. Images can be
projected onto 3D shapes, specified colours can be protected from the
various processes, colour separations can be viewed on screen and masking is
now supported. Images may also be zoomed and tools can be used within zoom
mode. Apart from save being disabled, most other functions are usable in
this demo. Unfortunately the program is in French.

זלללללללל¶
BOOM PREVIEW by NPG - A pre-release demo of a forthcoming game. The demo is
limited but only intended to show examples of gameplay rather than anything
else. The main part of Boom is a fast action shoot 'em up in a similar style
to Blood Money. Your one and only goal is to destroy aliens and avoid being
hit. You only get one life but can replay the level as often as you wish.
You them proceed to piloting your craft across a fractal generated landscape
and finally end up in a 3D dungeon which is currently no more than a mere
walkabout. If all goes well, Boom could end up as an impressive game. Needs
4 Meg (no room for Auto programs or ACCs) and a hard drive.
DIAMOND BACK 3 - A demo of the most advanced hard drive backup system
available on Atari computers. Features include data compression, a choice of
image backups or file backups, backup to floppy, hard drive or SCSI tape
drive, incremental backups and partial restores from backups to name just a
few! Diamond Back 3 is also Multi-TOS compatible. The demo is fully
functional in every respect except for the fact that the backup disks will
be blank. Needs 1 Meg.
E-BACKUP V1.01 - Another hard drive backup program. This one supports data
compression, image backups or file backups and lots of less obvious
features. It supports the formatting of DD, HD and ED disks of standard and
expanded capacity and is fully Multi-TOS compatible and can perform backups
under interrupt. Unfortunately, E-Backup is in German. This demo version
only backs up partition D.
EDHAK V3.0 from Douglas Communications - This useful tool is something of a
hybrid! It is a text editor, a memory editor and a disk sector editor! Files
and memory may be viewed and edited in HEX, Binary or Decimal. It also
allows data to be sent via modem from within the program. EDHak runs as a
PRG or ACC. This demo does not allow you to save data to files or to disk
sectors.
QUILL by Jonathon Lawrence - Described as a 'pen and ink freehand vector
drawing package, Quill is an ingenious product which lets you draw or write
on screen using the mouse or Tabby graphics tablet as if it were a pen. The
degree of accuracy and smoothness need to be seen to be believed, even with
a mouse! The full version allows line drawings and writing to be converted
to vector graphics. The demo is a full implementation with Save disabled. A
number of examples of work created with Quill are included on disk. Full
version distributed in the UK by CGS.

זלללללללל¶
AT TOOLS by Berthuit Franck - A comprehensive disk management tool which is
primarily intended for use with a hard drive although it will also work on
floppy disk and ramdisks. Its functions include the ability to verify fats,
verify files on disk, repair damaged files, change file attributes, copy,
move, sort and delete files and folders. Extensive info is available on disk
format and the directory tree style of presentation is impressive to say the
least. If that's not enough, AT Tools is also a hard drive optimiser!
Perhaps one of the best presented and most comprehensive disk management
tools on the market. The demo goes through all the motions of carrying out
the selected functions but does not actually write to disk. Also included on
disk is a demo version of a text editor by the same author.
COMA V4.50 by Softbär - A COmunications MAnager for your Atari. COMA is an
integrated suite of programs for those of you who own a fax modem. It can be
used to send and receive faxes and also to act as a telephone answering
machine using voice mail (which automatically distinguishes between phone
and fax calls)if your fax modem supports this. COMA is fully Multi-TOS and
MagiC compatible and may be run as an APP or ACC. You can import documents
in 1st Word or Wordplus format and IMG files can also be used. COMA
automatically compresses your data prior to transmitting it so as to
minimise on-line time. It will work with any class 2 fax modem, transmitting
and receiving at speeds of up to 14,400 baud. This Shareware version is
fully functional except that you can only send faxes of about one fifth of
an A4 page. Register with the author to remove this restriction. UK
registration now available. Full details on disk.
3D DUNGEON 1 by Apollo of NPG - A very early demo of a Wolfstein 3D clone.
It currently just lets you wander around a 3D world walking around (or
through!) texture mapped walls and 'billboards' with computer graphics on
them.

זלללללללל¶
STORMTRACKER - The demo version of Astrasoft's Protracker clone. Although
StormTracker works with standard MOD files, it is very different from other
tracker program. For a start, it runs in all resolutions except low
resolution and you work on a conventional music score where you place notes
directly onto a stave and they are replayed using your chosen samples.
StormTracker includes its own sample editor and an extensive set of effects
which can be added to your masterpiece and replays at up to 50khz depending
on which machine you run it on. What's more, it's just brimming with
features aimed at traditional musicians. Almost everything is fully
functional except the ability to save your work. Includes an example MOD
file and some great samples to work with. Full version from Goodman

OBSESSION by Unique Developments Sweden - A one table playable demo of the
pinball game everyone's talking about! You play the Aquatic Adventure board
which is full of different ramps and passes. There are big bonuses to be
had, extra balls, safe balls, bonus multipliers and much more. A fast action
fun game with superb graphics, sound and playability. The demo is so
addictive that you'll just have to buy the full game!
SUPERSAM V1.01B by Daniel Hastings - A sample editor specifically written
for the Falcon. It allows you to sample directly from an external microphone
plugged into the Falcon or load up exiosting samples. Amongst other things
it compresses or interpolates samples, performs fades, adjusts volume, swaps
left and right channel data and converts between 8-bit and 16-bit samples
and mono and stereo. It can load and save samples in AVR, RAW, IFF, SAM,
SND, SPL, AU, WAV and VOC formats. Comprehensive editing tools allow you to
cut, paste, copy, overlay and replace blocks within samples. Supersam may
also be used as a 'jutebox' to play an entire directory of samples, or
installed as a sample player so that samples may be double-clicked from the
Desktop. Supersam is easy to use, Multi-TOS compatible and extensively
documented. Save is disabled in this demo version.

IMAGECOPY 3.5 - A usable demo of the latest incarnation of FaST Club's
superb screen grabber, graphic format converter and image print utility. In
addition to the ability to convert between around 30 graphic file format,
this latest version supports the creation of thumbnails (miniature pictures)
prints out pictures in catalogue form, features image scaling (to fit the
current resolution), further improved print quality, aspect ratio correction
(for resolutions with non-square pixels), faster colour processing, zooming
from 1/16 to 16x, and the ability to superimpose colour separations over
each other to get colour prints out of mono printers. This demo version
superimposes program information over screengrabs, printouts and converted
files. Apart from that, it is fully functional. A number of example images
are supplied on disk.
LETS PLAY SHANGHAI by OXO Concept - A Falcon specific variation of the age
old Mah Jong Chinese tile game where you remove pairs of matching tiles in
an attempt to clear the board. This demo limits you to one minute of play on
each of the 7 different boards. The full version also has a number of extras
like a high score table, music, pause and the ability to load and save
games. This version runs in 256 colours and supports the increased
resolution of ScreenBlaster if installed. Needs 4 Meg.
VISION by L'Antique Lascours - An excellent GEM based art package from
France. It has all the usual tools and much more including the ability to
perform various effects on localised areas of the image. It supports TIFF,
GIF, IMG, Degas, NEO, Art Director and Mac Paint formats. Vision is
lightning fast on screen redraws and fully supports SpeedoGDOS and Multi-
TOS. It runs in all resolutions but will not load palette based images into
True Colour or vice versa. Fully operational apart from Save being disabled.
No docs, menus in French. 4 Meg recommended, essential if using 256 colour
or True Colour modes.

MEGATRACKER V0.9ß by Axel F of MCS - An early demo of a DSP based 32 track
(this is not a misprint!) soundtracker clone. It supports MOD, 8CHN, CD81,
FLT8, 69, MAD and MTM formats and interpolates the data from 8-bit to 16-bit
quality. Data files compressed using Atomik 3.5 may be loaded and played
directly from Megatracker. Editing follows the convention used by other
soundtracker programs with the exception that the screen scrolls (using the
mouse) to about 2.5 times the normal depth (the only way to fit 32 tracks on
screen!). You can set your keyboard up as a piano or a drum machine and
there is no limit to the size of samples which may be used in your
compositions. Four impressive MTM modules created with Megatracker are
included on disk. This demo has Save and a few other features disabled but
is a marvellous MOD player in its own right. Needs 4 Meg.

DIGITAL TRACKER V1.9 - A demo of the commercial followup to the Shareware
program of the same name on F.4366. This latest version is similarly
specified to Megatracker on F.5074 except that it displays just eight tracks
on screen although it supports up to 32. Notable features include a built-in
sound sampler and sample editor, full Midi support, playback at up to 50khz
and 8-bit stereo output interpolated to 16-bit. Two example 8 track DTM
files are supplied on disk. This seems to be a full implementation with the
obvious exception that you cannot save your work. Although Digital Tracker
will run on 1 Meg, you will require 4 Meg if you want to load the example
modules.
ZERO-X v2.0 by Copson Data - Audio software primarily designed to convert
of any size between different sample types (Cubase Audio, Dame,
SoundDesigner, WAVe, AVR, WinRec and RAW 16-bit formats). It also
automatically finds the best loop positions in samples and transfers samples
to and from samplers and sample players via SCSI and MIDI and features basic
sample editing with auto-cut and beat loop functions. On the STE, TT and
Falcon, samples can be played back from within Zero-X. Apart from the
inability to save, a number of other restrictions exist in this demo
version.

TEAM by Impact Software - A demo of the football game of the same name. You
take on the role of Holland in a match against Colombia in this demo
version. Everything is fully playable with the only restriction being that
you just get to play this single match (as many times as you like). The full
version has a lot more game content but the demo shows off the graphics,
stereo soundtrack, sound effects and animation to their fullest effect.
TESSERA by Dolphin Software - A novel adaptation of the Tetris theme. It is
played on a 3D grid and has all the Tetris elements like explosions,
bonuses, multipliers and does centre around blocks being correctly positions
on the grid. However, that's where the similarity stops! The squares in the
grid are disintegrating and you must cover each square with a block.
However, you cannot have three like blocks in a row, otherwise they explode.
In addition, the blocks come fast and furious and are not easily positioned.
Many original elements in this game make it a fun challenge. This demo only
allows play on medium skill level and has only three levels. The full
version only costs £5 from the authors. Calling Tessera addictive is an
understatement!
GRAFIX by Silly Software - Learn to draw and paint the 'Silly' way! Well
that's not exactly true, this is a demo of a seriously well thought out
graphics tutorial package which aims to teach you quite a number of tricks
of the trade. The graphics are drawn by a semi-professional artist and the
tutorials are well laid out and easy to follow. In this demo, five of the
eighteen tutorials are enabled. The full package also comes with a fully
functional art program called Grafix Art. Full version from Goodmans.

PONG 2000 by Holland Games Design - An early demo of the now commercial game
Ping 2000. It is essentially the old bat and ball game brought right up to
date. You control a 'double-bat' joined together by a 'wibbly wobbly' piece
and have to stop the bouncing asteroid getting past you and knock it past
your opponent. Although Pong could never have been described as mind
bending, the 'sequel' is a fast action game with impressive graphic
backdrops, a stereo soundtrack and much improved sound effects. What's more,
it's not as easy to play as you'd think! The demo features a single level
with no scoring but you do get your three lives. One and two player options
are available but the classic game is disabled. Needs 4 Meg.
AUDIO CALCULATOR v1.04 by Hinton Instruments - An essential tool for Midi
musicians. The program actually features five built-in calculators. You
simply supply the basic inputs and the rest of the values you require are
computed for you. The Analog Level Calculator and Sound Calculator are fully
operational but the Music Timing Calculator, Tape Timing Calculator and
Digital Audio Calculator are included merely to illustrate how they work.
Their functions are disabled in this demo. The full version has all five
calculators fully operational, can be run as an ACC and is Multi-TOS
compatible.
COLOUR PCD by NBK Computer GmbH - Photo CD viewer software. This demo allows
you to run a slideshow of PCD pictures and perform various image processing
functions on them. It can display PCD images in any resolution at any of the
supported sizes. The only thing you can't do with the demo is save the
processed images to disk. Also included is a PhotoCD compatible CD-ROM
driver for use with Multi-TOS.

CROWN OF CREATION PRE-PREVIEW by Rebelsoft - A very early version (all 7 Mb
of it!) of what could turn out to be a good game. It starts off with an
impressive intro sequence and soundtrack, including some text on what it's
all about. You then proceed to a presentation of the ship's support systems
and weaponry. Beautifully raytraced pictures rotate and scale in real time
and you get all the technical data on each item as it appears. Finally, you
take your seat in the cockpit and blast into Outer Space. There little in
the way of gameplay in this version and all you can do is increase/decrease
speed, move left/right and fire. The firing doesn't actually destroy
anything but the explosions are impressive. Needs 4 Mb and a hard drive.
Sound plays through headphones or external speakers, so you'll get silence
if you don't have either connected!

first Doom clone. It's the usual scenario of wandering around a maze
shooting at everything that moves and collecting things. You are armed with
only a dagger and a pistol and must brave the elements and save the world,
or something like that. Gameplay follows much the same lines as the PC
version of Doom but with some compromises. This demo is fully playable but
limited to a single level and it exits to the Desktop each time you lose a
life.
RAINBOW II MULTIMEDIA by Addiction Software - A usable demo of the followup
to Rainbow. This latest version retains all the features of the original and
adds several new studios. The photo studio offers a number of image
processing filters and the sound studio is complete sound sampling software
which is as capable as most. The game studio features Skulls, an old STE
minesweeper clone by the authors of Rainbow. The slideshow studio allows
scripts to be made up and supports the inclusion of sound in your
slideshows. The sprite studio is a fully fledged sprite designer and
includes most of the tools from the picture studio. Rainbow II appears to be
fully usable with the exception that Save is disabled.
SUPERSAM V1.0 by Daniel Hastings - A superb sound sample recording and
editing package. It can load and save samples in AVR, RAW (inc SAM, SND,
SPL), IFF, AU, WAV and VOC formats. Here's just a few of SuperSam's
features:- handles 8-bit mono, 8-bit stereo and 16-bit stereo samples, uses
the GEM clipboard for cut and paste operations, can sign/unsign samples, can
boost or reduce volume, zoom into samples for finer editing, swap channels
on a stereo sample, shift sample playback frequency, samples directly from
the microphone socket, edit left and right channels separately, batch
conversion between file formats, can pan the stereo image from left to right
or vice versa. These are only a few of SuperSam's features, making it one of
the most fully featured sound sampling packages available. All Save

XGA, PIC, KID, Prism Paint, True Paint, Delm Paint, F Paint, Egg Paint and
Indy Paint graphic formats. All the basic tools like freehand, line, k-line,
box, circle, fill, magnify and airbrush are there as well as a few extras
like slow draw, mask screen, letterbox and colour box (graduated colour
fills). GodPaint runs in True Colour and allows the screen resolution to be
switched from within the program. Apart from Save being disabled, everything
else seems fully functional. Well documented in the on-line Help. Contact
the author for details on how to obtain the full version.
SPY HUNTER by The Resevoir Gods - A very early unplayable preview of a game
based on Spy Hunter from the 8-bit micros. The cars all crash within the
first few seconds and you get an aerial view of the moving track. Is this
the basis of another superb game from the Resevoir Gods?
CONVERT 2000 V0.9 by J G Systems - Converts data from the Yamaha SY99, Take

COMPONIUM by Suma - An eight track composition program. Unlike tracker type
programs, this package uses standard musical notation written on a
conventional music stave. Different instrument samples can be assigned to
different tracks and several songs can be open at once, allowing you to cut
and paste data between them. Componium is fully GEMmed and very well
documented. This is a near-fully functional demo with just Midi import and
the Sample Studio disabled in addition to Save (of course!). There are seven
high quality tracks supplied for you to listen to, or you can have a try at
composing your own.
QCART - A cart can be a jingle, a sound effect or indeed anything else along
those lines. A sample often contains several carts. Qcart is an eight track

VOXX by Hans Achim Mueller - A usable demo version of a 16-band vocoder. So
what is a vocoder? The original vocoder was a military device used to encode
human speech in such a fashion that only someone with a vocoder set to the
same configuration could decypher the speech. A modern vocoder allows voice
on one channel to be combined with music on another and passed through
various filters in order to create a range of specific sound effects,
something especially suited to the Falcon's DSP. It all sounds very
technical but is extremely well explained in the doc and several examples
are given as to how to create such effects as singing instruments, robot
speech, soloist singer, rhythmic chords and so forth. Although aimed
primarily at musicians, Vocoder is fun for anyone to 'play' with. Requires a
microphone and some sort of synth (or hi-fi equipment) in order to create
the input data. Program in English, docs in both English and German. VGA
ONLY. Would be very limited in 1 Mb, so 4 Mb recommended.
SOUND STUDIO v1.76.2 by Studio Capitale - Described as professional digital
audio editing software, Sound Studio is essentially a D2D recording studio
just brimming over with features. It allows you to record 8-bit or 16-bit
stereo or mono at resolutions of between 7.035Khz and 49.170Khz. As well as
direct audio input, you can also record directly from MIDI. Sound Studio has
a vast range of editing tools which allow you to cross fade blocks, work
directly on sound waves, view cuts before performing them, modify sample
volume, use the clipboard for mixing and much more. This version is a
complete implementation with only one restriction, you can't play back your
recordings. All editing features are present as is the ability to save your
work, but you'll have to load it into a package which supports one of Sound
Studio's export formats (AVR, AIF, TRK or WAV) in order to listen to your
masterpiece. Program and docs in both English and French. Needs 4 Mb and a

HD DRIVER v7.5 by Uwe Seimet - A usable demo of this popular hard disk
driver software. Amongst its features, it supports drives of over 1 Gb, is
fully XHDI v1.25 compliant, supports ZIP drives and DOS formatted drives.
allows up to 23 partitions, supports two IDE drives and is fully
configurable. In addition, HD Driver is probably the fastest hard disk
driver as well as being the most advanced in terms of features. The demo
only lets you write to partition C, limits the size of supported media to 1
Gb and does not let you save your customised preferences. Apart from that,
it is fully configurable.
MIDI-COM v3.93 by Harald Blees - A demo of a networking system based around
the built-in MIDI ports on Atari computers. Midi-Com allows up to 7 Atari
computers to be linked via Midi cables so that each may use the other's
drives and peripherals as if they were directly connected to that computer.
Each computer is assigned a node name and number on the network and
different access levels can be set for each user. It is also possible to use
Midi-Com via serial cables or via the cartridge port (with additional
hardware). A very respectable 32K per second transfer rate can be achieved
over a Midi network using only two basic 8 Mb STs. The demo restricts use to
drives A and C of the computers connected to the network and has several
features disabled. Regrettably the programs and docs are all in German but
we've done RUF translations of the docs in most cases.
ROAD RUNNER V1.0 by Andreas Schrell - A sort of German version of Route
Finder. In other words, a route planner for Germany. Road Runner lists 7700
places and calculates appropriate routes from A to B according to your
specifications. This demo does not allow you to print or save the results
and has a few other limitations. Well worth checking out if you're planning
to tour Germany this summer, especially since the full version is very
reasonably priced. Obviously the program and docs are in German but we've
done a RUF translation of the docs. Needs 4 Mb and a hard drive.
BILLY RENDER V1.0 by Lexicor France - A usable demo of a 3D rendering

clone for the STE/TT/Falcon. It loads MOD, S3M, 669, MTM, PMD3, DTM, GTK, XM
and MGM module formats and samples in SPL and AVR formats (WAV and DTM also
supported in the full version). Quality depends on number of voices used, so
the fewer you use, the better the quality, although you can still achieve
respectable results with more than the usual 4 voices. A useful feature is
its ability to load Atomik, Ice and Speed packed MODs as well as loading
files directly from within LZH, ZIP or ARJ archives. This demo is pre-
release and has some features (such as MIDI support and the sample editor)
missing. Obviously the demo does not save MODs, although individual samples
can be saved. Full version available from the author at VERY low cost.
GENEVA V1.03 (RELEASE 004) DEMO by Gribnif Software - At last we have a demo
version of the Geneva multi-tasking OS. Although this version
(understandably) has a number of limitations imposed on its use, it does
allow you to experiment with Geneva's multi-tasking capabilities within a
'real' working environment. Unlike most product demos, this one actually

CLUB70 by Symphonics Division - Demo version of a patch editor and librarian
for the Yamaha DTS70 drum trigger system. Club70 includes several features
which assist the management, editing and creative process of using the DTS70
for percussion as well as keyboards. It lets you edit two banks
simultaneously and cut/copy/paste freely between them. In addition, you have
full control over Performance an Chain patches via mouse or keyboard and can
trigger sequencers by automatically assigning chords to different pads. The
demo is fully functional except that you cannot save banks, transmit banks
or print and a few other functions are disabled. Includes an extensive 'get

zoom in on any part of the document, apply various line and fill styles and
create vector objects from within the program. Printer support is extensive
and covers 9-pin Epson, 24-pin Epson & NEC and HP Laserjet/Deskjet

pages and supports colour separation at the printout stage. You can work on
up to 7 documents in memory at once and cut and paste data between them. All
frame types are cached for greater speed. Features include the ability to
create and assign master pages, create and save text style lists, expand
compress and skew text, rotate and mirror frames, print parts of pages,
define units of measurement for pages, fonts and lines, align frames to
other frames and choose from three frame display modes (transparent, opaque
and inverse). Although nominally mono only, Calamus SL will run on any
ST/STE/TT/Falcon on a resolution of at least 640x400 pixels. This means that
it will run with large screen monitors (and virtual screen emulators) in
colour. This is a complete implementation of the program with the only
restrictions being that you cannot save your work and that a watermark is
printed on each page. This latest version is fully MagiCMac compatible,
allows text to be scaled to the size of the frame, includes several new
graphic import/export modules, includes printer drivers for the HP 660 and

AUDIO MASTER by Sound Pool - Professional sound recording software. AM is
essentially a complete mixing desk running on your Falcon. Samples are
placed in Cue lists and manipulated via the Mixer. The analyser provides
control over the FFT waveforms and the Equaliser and Dynamic Settings handle
the fine tuning. The results can be saved as standard audio files or cue
lists and replayed via Midi or your computer's speaker. Samples can be
imported directly into Audio Master or recorded direct to disk. Apart from
Save functions being disabled, everything else seems to be fully functional.
SCOOTER V2.10C by HK Datentechnik - The first English release of this
popular PCB design package. This is a professional package which handles up
to 20 layers and offers complete control over such things as hole sizes,
track widths and grid size with measurements accurate to 1/1000th of an
inch. It includes an extensive library of electronic components and the
ability to design and add your own. An invaluable feature is the ability to
route signal paths either manually or using the built-in autorouter. Output
is supported to most 9-pin, 24-pin and laser printers with the option of
outputting to a file in IMG or GEM format. Plotter output is also supported.
The demo is fully functional except that you cannot print or save your own
work, although the supplied examples can be edited or printed. Includes an
extensive 'get you going guide'. Full version available in the UK.
QUINCY V1.0 by Parx Software - An 8-track digital audio recorder. Quincy
takes its input directly from the microphone socket (or optionally via the
DSP port) and writes it directly to disk. Output is supported via the audio
out socket to your Hi-Fi or can be channelled through Midi equipment.
Various effects are available through the Mixing Table as is the ability to
Remix recorded sound. It works by creating a temporary file on disk and
performing all editing and mixing functions on that prior to saving it to
DAT tape. The demo version allows you to create these 'dummy' tapes not
mount or save them and erases them when you quit the program. Needs 4 Mb.
IO TOOLS V1.85 by Pierre Laloe - An excellent integrated disk/file tool. It
allows you to copy/restore an entire hard drive partition onto another
device, copy/restore an entire partition to/from a file for mass duplication
or copy/restore removable media cartridges. It even handles Linux
partitions. IO TOOLS also lets you split/recombine a file into several
smaller ones for copying onto floppies. You can also, write-protect, write-
enable or delete individual files. Unfortunately this demo is restricted to
showing you the interface etc and does not actually 'do' anything. Full
version from the author. Falcon or TT. Needs an XHDI v1.25 driver (typically
HD Driver or CBHD) or it won't work.

SNIPPIT SYNTH v1.2 by Electronic Cow - A Granular Synthesiser for all
Ataris. Granular synthesis is a method of sound generation which uses small
sonic events to create a composite sample. In Snippit, you have complete
control over each sonic event (or grain), including the type, and its
placement in the three axes of audio: time, frequency, and amplitude. Use
Snippit Synth to create a vast library of extraordinary sounds, for use with
sample sequencers, professional audio applications (like Cubase Audio), or
as a source for your MIDI sampler. This demo comes with over 20 sounds for
you to experiment with. Although Snippit Synth runs on any Atari, there's no
sound output unless you have an STE/TT/Falcon! There are a number of
restrictions in this demo version.
MIDI ARPEGGIATOR V2.11 by Electronic Cow - Use MIDI Arpeggiator to create
arpeggio-style mini-sequences for use in your compositions, by saving the
parts as standard MIDI files (both type 0 and 1). MIDI Arpeggiator can run
as either a desk accessory or normal program, so it can be open at the same
time as your favourite GEM sequencer (memory permitting). Alternatively, use
MIDI Arpeggiator on its own as a live sequencing tool with its many real-
time functions and play modes... There are a number of restrictions in this
demo version.
SOUND CHIP SYNTH V3.00 by Electronic Cow - A Software Synthesiser for all
Ataris. Use Sound Chip Synth to unlock the burbling sonic potential inside
the ST's built-in FM sound chip, and create some rasping analogue-style
noises. Sound Chip Synth's great as a monophonic sound source in a MIDI set-
up, but can equally be used as a sample generator for other software to play
your burbles with... A number of sounds are included on the disk. There are
a number of restrictions in this demo version.

DIAPO by Frederic Bayle - Converts an entire directory of images into
thumbnails (miniatures) on a single page at the current screen resolution,
colour reducing as necessary. There are various dithering and palette
options, an optional 3D look, adjustable image size, adjustable spacing
between images and much more. Ideal for cataloguing your collection of
graphics. This Shareware version does not allow different image sizes and
Save is disabled. Register with the author for the full version. Needs the
Parx M&E modules on F.4787.
UVK V6.8 by Richard Karsmakers - A demo version of the latest version of
this leading virus killer. It has the highest virus (and harmless
bootsector) recognition statistics of any virus killer and can restore
hundreds of damaged (i.e accidentally overwritten) bootsectors. The demo
detects viruses but cannot kill them. Also, it lists all the bootsectors it
can repair but does not offer a restore option. Full version from Douglas
Communications.
JINNEE V1.0 by Application Systems Hiedelberg - A replacement Desktop
primarily targetted at MagiC users although it can be used under single TOS
or Multi-TOS provided you run the supplied WDIALOG program first. It is AV
compatible and almost everything is configurable from the user's point of
view. The demo version does not allow the use of custom icons or a Desktop
backdrop, custom icons and has several other features disabled. It looks
very promising (if you excuse the lack of custom icons) but is entirely in
German. An English version of the full product will probably be distributed
by System Solutions. Needs a hard drive.
DFORM V1.53 by Parx Software - An image warping and morphing package which
runs on any Atari in any resolution. It allows you a great deal of
customisation over the parameters used but has few tools and is therefore
very easy to use. Needs the Parx M&E modules on F.4787. Saving and printing
are disabled in this demo. Everything else is fully functional.

SHARPSCORE V3.2A by Take Control - A top class DTP package for score
writing. It lets you place notes directly onto the staves and add text
(using the range of fonts and point sizes supported by your system) to your
compositions. Your finished work may then be printed out using GDOS. MIDI
files may be imported and Sharpscore will automatically convert them into
sheet music ready for printing. Similarly, your compositions may be saved as
MIDI files and played through the built-in speaker or output via one of a
number of sampling cartridges, if you do not have a MIDI instrument
attached. This package offers an extensive amount of control over both the
composition and DTP side of your music making and is very highly
recommended. Please note Sharpscore only runs from floppy and does not exit
legally. Also, you should ensure you boot up from the floppy as it contains
GDOS fonts necessary for the display of your musical notes. Don't try using
Speedo or NVDI unless you know how to get the supplied (bitmap) fonts
working with your setup! Apart from that, it works very well on the Falcon.
All save and print functions are disabled in this demo version.

EC-909 - An analogue drum machine emulator from Electronic Cow
Software. It is based on the famous Roland TR-909 drum machine and comes
complete with sixteen original samples from that machine. EC-909 can create
single bar patterns and export them to D2D recorders or sample editors in
AIFF or AVR formats (8-bit or 16-bit in mono or stereo). They can also be
exported in MIDI format for use in your sequencer. Although perfectly
usable, many of the best features are disabled in this demo. Needs 4Mb.
SCRIBBLE SYNTH - Another of Electronic Cow Software's innovative music
products. Scribble Synth is an additive synthesiser in a similar vein to
Snippit Synth but this time, you make your music by drawing frequency
envelopes on the screen! These mouse scribbles (of which there are five per
sound) are transformed into 2D frequency spectrum plots by the software. The
results can be amazing, strange sci-fi warbles, time based pitch and
filtering effects and more, are all possible as well as some really deep
bass sounds. Sounds can be exported to tracker programs, D2D recorders and
sample editors in AIFF, SPL or AVR formats (8-bit and 16-bit in mono or
stereo and at any frequency up to 50khz). Sounds can also be dumped via MIDI
to an MSDS compatible sampler. A number of the ground-breaking features are
disabled in this demo version.
HP V1.16 by Homa Systems - Demo version of the NOVA driver for the Hewlett
Packard Scanjet IICX, IIp, 3P/C, 4P/C range of flatbed scanners. It handles
page sizes up to 8.5"x14" and supports pre-scan and various adjustments such
as gamma correction, brightness and contrast, adjustable scaling and
scanning at up to 1200dpi (dependent on your scanner's capabilities). It
runs as an ACC or PRG and can scan directly into programs which support the
GDPS protocol, or direct to your hard drive. I can't say what's disabled in
this demo version as I don't own one of these scanners.
MUST V1.17 by Homa Systems - Demo version of the NOVA driver for the Mustek
Paragon 6000/12000 CX range of flatbed scanners. All specifications as per
the HP driver (above).
DIGITAL HOME STUDIO V1.03 by Emmanuel Jaccard - A major upgrade to Digital
Tracker (Shareware) on F.4366 and the commercial followup on F.5075. It is
described as an audio (32-track Soundtracker) and MIDI sequencer, D2D
recording station, digital effects box and sampler, all rolled into one. It
supports direct to disk recording, lets you apply digital effects to
existing sounds, use MIDI and audio functions at the same time and write
your compositions directly to DAT or CDR, and much more. Some features are
disabled in this demo version. The full version is available from the
author.
